How to Play Video Poker
|
Are you ready to learn how to play Video Poker? Begin by choosing your game. It is probably best to begin with either Deuces Wild or Jacks or Better, although once you learn how to play Video Poker, you can quickly move on to other variations! Before you make any bets—that is, feed coins into the Video Poker machine—you must first set your coin value. The Video Poker machine can be set to play $0.25 coins, $1 coins, or $5 coins. So if you put a $10 Casino chip in a machine with a $1 coin setting, your coin credits will be 10. If you change the coin setting to $0.25, your coin credits will increase to 40 (for a $10 chip). Next you can add coins or credit to the Video Poker machine. This varies slightly according to where you learn how to play Video Poker. At Casino Elegance, you drop Casino chips into the Insert Coins slot. As you add Casino chips, your Credit meter will adjust. You get to choose how many coins you bet on each hand. You can bet from one to five. Click the Bet One button to set how many coins you want. Each click increases the number of coins by one. Bet Max automatically increases the number of coins to five. As you select the number of coins, your Coins Bet Meter will adjust. The appropriate column in the payout table will be highlighted. It makes sense that the more coins you bet, the more you win. In general, the increase is proportionate. Do note, however, that if you happen to hit a natural royal flush and have bet the maximum of five coins, you win substantially more. Once you’ve deposited money or credit in the Video Poker game and made your coin selection, you’re ready to play. Click the Deal button. The machine will deal five cards to you, all face up. Since this is draw poker, you can choose to hold or discard any or all of the five cards. Your goal is make the best hand you can between your original deal and your potential draw. Of course, holding cards is an important part of how to play Video Poker. To keep a card, click the Hold button under that card or simply click the card. A pin will appear to indicate that the card is to be held, and the Hold button will adjust to say Release. If you change your mind, click Release or click the card. Note that you might want to hold on to different cards depending on the Video Poker variation you are playing. After selecting which cards to hold, click Draw to draw new cards for those you are discarding. Those cards not held will be replaced with new cards from the deck. These newly drawn cards plus the cards you kept from the first deal constitute your final hand. Your final hand will always consist of a total of five cards. The resulting hand is matched against the payout table and your bet is settled. Any wildcards—if you’re playing Deuces Wild, for instance—will be used to make the highest hand possible. When you first learn how to play Video Poker, remember that you are not competing against anyone else—the game pays according to the chart at the top of the machine. If you win, your coin credits increase accordingly. This is shown in the Credit Meter. Click Deal to play again. The deck will be reshuffled and you'll be dealt a new hand. Those are the basics of how to play Video Poker, but be sure to review the information about Video Poker software to get familiar with the controls for Video Poker at Casino Elegance.
